What’s new for Epiphone SG 2025, you ask? Their beloved Modern series is getting an update. Gibson’s subsidiary is releasing both new SG Standard and SG Custom models.

Epiphone SG 2025: SG Custom in Black and White!

For the SG Custom range of the Modern series, Epiphone is releasing two colors: Alpine White* and Ebony*. They’re also offering a left-handed ebony version*. Each model is part of the “Inspired by Gibson” collection and comes with the typical double-cutaway mahogany body.

Glued-in mahogany neck (1960 Slim Taper C profile), ebony fretboard with Custom pearloid block inlays (12″ radius) with 22 medium jumbo frets: it’s what SG fans know and love. These models also include gold hardware, giving them a luxurious aura.

For Epiphone SG 2025, the manufacturer has opted for Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and a fully adjustable LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. So, the tuning of these models should be rock-solid! As for pickups, you get ProBucker Custom humbuckers, each with individual volume and tone controls. There is also a three-way switch for switching and combining the two buckers. Both SG Custom models are available at Thomann for 749 euros each with an estimated 2-3 weeks delivery time.

For the Epiphone SG 2025 release, the manufacturer is also updating the SG Standard models of the Modern series. These models come with the typical contoured, double-cutaway mahogany body and glued-in mahogany neck (SlimTaper C profile), but it’s a bound Indian laurel fretboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays compared to the SG Custom models.
