Gretsch 2025: New Broadkaster LX Models and a Honey Dipper Resonator Guitar!
A resonator guitar, and two new signature acoustic guitars!
While the Fender-owned brand didn’t have as big a celebration as Fender themselves, Gretsch still released some exciting new guitars for NAMM 2025. For their Professional Series, they released four new Broadkaster LX models. And then there is the beautiful Honey Dipper resonance guitar and an updated Jim Dandy Signature guitar. Let’s take a look!
Gretsch’s 2025 Releases
Gretsch Pro Broadkaster LX and JR LX
The guitar manufacturer has introduced four new Broadkaster models in its most exclusive range, the Professional Series. With two LX (hollow double-cut) and two JR LX (semi-hollow single-cut) models, these new guitars combine many long-standing traditions with some innovative features.
Each LX model features a redesigned Channel Core center block with a combination of maple and spruce that Gretsch says improves the guitar’s sound “for faster attack and enhanced midrange punch”. On the Junior models, Gretsch has also improved the body design with deeper cutaways for better access to the upper frets. Each model features two Pro Twin Six humbuckers, a string-through Bigsby B7GP vibrato tailpiece with Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gotoh locking tuners.
For the classic double-cut models, you get a 24.6″ scale, a 12″ ebony fretboard on a maple neck (Standard U profile), and a three-way switch. In comparison, the Junior LX variants come with a 25.5″ scale, while both models include Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays. For both the Pro Broadkaster LX and the Pro Broadkaster JR LX, there are two color variants. The double-cuts come in Cadillac Green* or Black*, while the single-cut variants are available in Blackberry* or Midnight Sapphire* – from Thomann for 3,129 euros.
Honey Dipper Resonator Guitar
But wait, there’s more! Gretsch has also released the “G9202 Honey Dipper Special Round-Neck Brass Body Resonator Guitar.” Let’s stay with Honey Dipper – that resonates a bit more. This model will get you more twang than any Telecaster can!
It comes with a bell brass metal body and an Ampli-Sonic aluminum biscuit cone for a rich sound. The hard maple biscuit bridge has an ebony and maple saddle, and the mahogany neck comes in a comfortable medium “V” shape. This beauty is available from Thomann* for 889 euros!
Limited Edition Jim Dandy – Now with Solid Top
Last but certainly not least, Gretsch has added two models to the Jim Dandy signature line of acoustic guitars. While both the Parlor-sized* and the bigger Concert-sized* models come with a very similar feature set as the original releases did, these two models have been upgraded with solid spruce tops. Both models are available from Thomann for 259 euros each.
