Origin Effects has announced its new Cali76 Stacked Compressor, aiming to offer guitarists singing sustain and squashed clean tones.
It has a dual-stage design, so it essentially has enough compression to achieve these types of compressed guitar tones. Making it perfect for great clean tones, slide players, and anyone looking for great sustain.
Studio Style Compression

FET Compression
The two compression stages are FET-based and offer two distinct compression levels. Want a snappy, percussive edge? Set Stage 1 for a slow attack and fast release to accentuate your pick attack. Then, fatten your overall tone with a fast attack on Stage 2, creating a dynamic punch that cuts through any mix.
Parallel Compression
The Dry control also allows users to dial in parallel compression. This will enable them to have teh perfect blend of presence, sustain, and articulation. Just mix in the amount of dry signal with your compressed tone to achieve the desired effect.
It also uses individual LED gain reduction indicators for each side of the compressor so you can see how much you have dialed in.
Headroom
The Cali76 Stacked Compressor boasts an internal voltage boost to 24V from a standard 9V supply, ensuring pristine clarity across your signal chain. This will help to keep the signal as clean as possible, which makes a big difference when compressing your guitar tone.
The pedal is housed in the usual high-end brushed stainless steel enclosure and is available in either a silver or black finish.
