Klevgrand develop classy, composed and understated plug-ins. They like to take simple ideas and make them beautifully rich and interesting. With SyndtSphere they’ve taken their Syndt Polyphonic Synthesizer and built in a delightful spherical interface. Through the dragging of a mouse or a finger, you can spin the sphere and morph through the sound palette.

Syndt is a simple polyphonic synthesizer plugin that morphs between sine and square waveforms, pulse width and modulation. Combined with a low/high pass filter it’s capable of generating some very pleasing sounds. To further push the morphing Klevgrand have redesigned the interface to give you a sort of three-dimensional morphing experience.

The “sphere” contains all 70 presets and as you manipulate it the sound changes as various presets reach the front. You can morph from one to another by turning the globe. Or you can find yourself evolving in a space between several presets to find completely new sounds.

They call it the “Sound Surfer Synthesizer”. It’s ridiculously simply, instantly enjoyable and completely free. That’s a great way to start the week.

There is also an iOS version but that will cost you $1.99. Otherwise you can download the desktop VST/AU version for MacOS and Windows for nothing more than your email address.
