The end of an era: Carvin guitar amp factory closes and liquidates stock
The end of an era for this Californian amp maker
Carvin Audio in the USA has announced the end of its amp making operations, as well as a liquidation sale to help them shift the last of their stock. The company is famous for making amplifiers for the likes of Steve Vai and so this will be quite a shock for many of their fans.
Liquidation
This US company has been around for 70 years. This closure is a great shame, I think, as they have made some great products, including the Carvin Legacy signature guitar amplifier for Steve Vai. To help shift the last of its stock, the firm is offering a 25% discount on new products. You could pick up some really great equipment from this Californian company.
The following statement below was released on the company Facebook page:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that the Carvin Audio factory will be closing its doors after over 70 years.
“We are thankful for the many years we’ve had in this business and the support you all have given us.
“We’d like to thank all of you for your devotion to our gear and championing us live, in the studio, and on social media. We hope to see our gear live on in your musical lives for many years to come!”
Follow the link below to the main Carvin Audio website for more details. As yet there have been no more announcements about the future of the rest of the company. Nor does the statement say how the factory closure will affect the business as a whole.
Guitars still going strong
Both Kiesel Guitars and Carvin Guitars are still going strong, though. Apparently, this liquidation only applies to the amps and the pro audio company, which was originally part of the same family but split off into separate companies years ago. It will, of course, be missed, but the instruments company is still around.

All guitar amplifiers are out of stock as of Friday the 13th.
That was quick!
as a former employee, carvin had bad quality procedures if any! ESD, SMT, TH procedures are not valued or applied, and lots of supervisor bullying that cause high turn over rate, lots of people come and go and quality suffered. Great Company but really really bad management beginning with the owner and CEO. Now I know why the guitar department split off as Kiesell guitars and becoming very successful. It was a great sounding pro audio amps and tube amps, just a very crappy bullying management added with a 1970’s mom and pop little shop mentality ,the root of very unreliable equipment for the consumer…shame, shame….
Can you still get Carvin amplifiers new
Olá, tenho um carvin legacy vl 300, tem como conseguir o pcb de reverb dele?
I think you would have to find an old Carvin dealer and ask if they can find you one.
Do you have the address of a carvin dealer? The legacy 3 pcb reverb was from some suplier, i don’t think carvin did it.
I don’t, but I’d suggest you go to here and ask https://carvinaudio.com/
