4MS Spherical Wavetable Navigator to re-emerge at NAMM 2018
We saw the amazing looking Spherical Wavetable Navigator at Superbooth last year, and then it vanished. All attempts to drag information out of 4MS were met with “nope” and so it made it onto my “Whatever happened to…” list as missing-in-action. Turns out they were saving it for NAMM 2018.
Spherical Wavetable Navigator
There’s still no official information on what it’s all about but it does bear a striking resemblance to the Spectral Multiband Resonator. How far it’s been developed since Superbooth is hard to say. What we do know is that it features 6 wavetable oscillators that are arranged in a sphere, in 3D space. As you move about in that space you get a different mix of waveforms. 6 LFO’s provide modulation control over the position of the wavetable and are out of phase by 60 degrees.
4MS are using the Spherical Wavetable Navigator as their marketing focus for the show so hopefully, this means it’s all ready to go. I have to say I preferred it with the black front panel it had at Superbooth. More information as we get it and be sure to follow our NAMM 2018 coverage page for all the latest news.
