Voltage Modular
There are no details yet, just the tease video below. It looks a lot like a cross between the Reason rack and Softube Modular. There are a lot of virtual patch cables floating around, a lot of CV, but also more regularly sized audio connections. Perhaps it’s a combination of synthesizer workstation and effects processing in a modular style. It does appear to follow the Eurorack format and looks alarmingly colourful.
I’ve seen comments that suggest Cherry Audio is made up of a bunch of old geezers from Sonic Foundry, Cakewalk, Bias and Acoustica. That could be an awesome collection of experience being poured into a new product. Although perhaps at the expense of some young and innovative blue sky thinking to come up with a more exciting name for themselves!
With VCV Rack ruling the virtual modular roost in terms of pricing, and Softube Modular doing it in terms of authenticity I wonder where Voltage Modular will find its feet.
