Back at NAMM Black Corporation teased a new synthesizer project from the people who brought you Deckard’s Dream. It’s called Kimiji, it’s an 8 voice polyphonic synthesizer and although details are scarce, they are open for preorders.

Here’s what we know:
Kimiji is 8 voice polyphonic, analogue, based on the CEM3340 oscillators with discrete SSM2040 filters, discrete waveshapers, polyphonic aftertouch and MPE support. It’s said to be inspired by the sound of the RSF Polykobol. We can see that it has two oscillators, a sub-oscillator, noise, two LFO’s and looping envelopes along with a buttoned modulation matrix.
The man on the Black Corporation stand says that after the initial idea of building Deckard’s Dream they wanted to see if they could resurrect some other vintage synthesizers and make them accessible again. I guess it’s a bit like Behringer but from a completely different concept of manufacturing and value.
To order one built, which should arrive in August, it will cost you $3749. The kit version of 12 PCBs will cost you $999 and you’ll have to source the other components.
