SSL intros overhauled v6 plug-in bundle, available on subscription basis
Solid State Logic has overhauled its plug-in bundle with the release of SSL Native v6. The update brings a facelift, more than anything, or in SSL’s own words — a “remaster”.
The famous plug-ins, such as the Bus Compressor and X-EQ, have been rewritten from the ground up. As a whole, the bundle contains nine plug-ins — Channelstrip, Vocalstrip, Drumstrip, Bus Compressor, X-Phase, X-EQ, X-Comp, X-ValveComp, and X-Saturator. They are available in AAX, VST3 / VST 2, and AU formats.
While no major changes to the sound quality of those already very good sounding plug-ins are to be observed, the user interfaces are radically polished with brand new graphics. Don’t worry, though, they still look exactly like you’d expect them to.
Preset management has also been revamped, with the Channelstrip and Bus Compressor plug-ins getting some very welcome factory presets for the first time. Additionally, SSL has made sure it’s able to support these plug-ins for the foreseeable future with backend changes.
Finally, Solid State Logic is making its jump on the subscription wagon by offering the v6 bundle for USD 15 on a monthly basis, or USD 150 per year — saving you around USD 30. The plug-ins are distributed through the well-known Gobbler platform.
