Gibson’s new limited edition Slash signature ‘Brazilian Dream’ Les Paul features fretboards made from genuine solid Brazilian Rosewood. With genuine solid Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards expect the price to be high. Very high. Add in the Slash association and you know you get an eye-wateringly expensive guitar.

The Gibson Slash Signature ‘Brazillian Dream’ Les Paul model is limited to a run of just 150 instruments worldwide. Based on the 1950s original specifications for the Les Paul model, these guitars all have lightweight mahogany bodies, so they shouldn’t be back breakers, hopefully. This model incorporates a replica ‘long-tenon’ mahogany 1958 C-shape profile neck and Cellulose Nitrate trapezoid inlays on those Brazilian rosewood fretboards. They should look and feel similar to a classic 1959 Les Paul.

Vintage specs

Everything has been kept very ‘vintage’ here, including black Butyrate ‘Top Hat’ control knobs and the aluminium stop bar tailpiece.

Each guitar comes loaded with a pair of Gibson Custombucker pickups, that use Alnico III magnets and comes with a hand wired control loom that uses faux ‘Bumblebee’ capacitors. Each guitar is hand-signed and numbered by Slash. An exclusive green-lined Lifton lacquered hard case is also thrown in.

You can only get this guitar in one finish: Dark Burst VOS. This is applied on to a two-piece plain maple top, which is interesting as you may have thought the guitar would have been a highly figured AAA flame maple top at this staggeringly high price.

USA Only

I’m not a huge fan of Slash signature models, as there seem to be way too many recently. But you may well love them, so if this is up your street, get saving your pennies! Because of CITES regulations, you can only purchase this model in the USA, as it is getting nigh on impossible to ship Brazilian Rosewood internationally.

RRP: USD 12999 (yes, you read that right) limited edition of 150 guitars
