Acustica Audio announce a potential plugin gem: Amethyst
The Italian plugin manufacturer Acustica Audio have announced a new complete channel strip plugin using their “CORE7” technology. They report this tech emulates analogue equipment with a new “fractal approach to partitioned convolution” providing zero-latency processing. With a demo download available and a special offer for pre-orders, this looks like a really interesting new plugin.
I’m a huge fan of convolution processing which I believe can provide some of the most realistic reproductions of acoustic spaces and hardware. However, there’s often an issue with heavy CPU usage and latency. I find Acustica’s claim’s around a new implementation of convolution processing very intriguing. This should be a great plugin and if they truly have cracked this tech, they’re on to a good thing and certainly a manufacture to watch out for.
The Amethyst is channel strip-style plugin with preamp, EQ and compressor processors in a modular layout, similar to a 500 series. The plugin has been modelled around analog equipment built and tested by Acustica themselves which shows a deep level of technical input that has gone into building this plugin.
Available as a trial now, pre-orders can be placed for 89.10 EUR. The full selling price will eventually be 99 EUR.
