ZVex Instant Lo-Fi Junky to ship in a new vertical edition
New vertical edition announced on Facebook
Zachary Vex has just shared a photo of a new vertical edition of his Instant Lo-Fi Junky pedal on Facebook. It looks really psychedelic with a new paint job yet, he says, it stays true to the original circuit design.
ZVex Instant Lo-Fi Junky
I’m a fan of American boutique pedal builder Zachary Vex and his ZVex brand. Why? Because he makes really nice circuits, with a fresh outlook on effects pedal designs. It’s why he became famous among guitarists rapidly. He does not follow the herd and comes up with some unique sounds and ways of manipulating audio.
The ZVex Instant Lo-Fi has been around for a few years and emulates the sounds and textures of the Lo-Fi Loop Junky. So there’s no looping onboard, but lots of lo-fi sound degradation that can border on chorus-like vibrato effects when pushed.
Vertical Vex
This new version is, of course, vertical in layout while retaining the same circuit as the original. I have popped a demo video by ReverbNerds.com featuring the regular version below so you can hear what it does.
I haven’t got an official price for the new version yet. But Zachary Vex has said on Facebook that he has already shipped a few hundred pedals to dealers in the US. So they should start popping up very soon to buy on the net.
I’m loving the layout and the new graphic. It makes sense that the circuit is being made available in this format, making it easier to squeeze this effect onto your pedal board.
RRP – TBC
