Two new Eurorack modules from Future Sound Systems and Mute Record’s Daniel Miller. The Makrow patch macro controller and Stumm audio mute.

Makrow

Makrow has 6 outputs a bit fat knob. The idea is that as you turn the knob your send voltage out of all 6 outputs. Then are then little knobs for each output for which you can set an offset. This means that outputs can have different voltage ranges associated with the turn of the main knob. Plumb this into 6 of your favourite things to modulate and you can make massive changes with the turning of a single knob. Nice!

There’s a CV input with attenuverter to apply a controlling voltage to all 6 outputs.

It’s a simple and effective module that could offer some radical performance changes to your live jamming. It should be available in August for £144.

Stumm

Stumm is bank of 6 groupable and click-less mutes. Simply switch up to hold the mute or down to momentary mute. But it’s the grouping that takes this module to different places. You can assign each channel to group A, B or none at all. You then have a single mute switch over an entire group. This makes it a pretty flexible performance device for grouping together percussion sounds or melodic sounds etc. Stumm will be available in August for £180.

This mute module sounds cool – might be one more reason to jump to full-blown Eurorack.
