Audiaire Nuxx has 55 lanes worth of effects automation
Coming from developer Audiaire, Nuxx is a multi-FX processor featuring 30 types of effects and dedicated effects parameter sequencer. Among the available effects, you will find fairly typical processors like filters, delay, reverb, distortion, pitch shift, bit-crushing, phaser, chorus, ring modulation and so on.
Nuxx can be used in simplified form as a 6-knob multi-FX processor, but there’s more to it, obviously. At its heart is real-time effects parameter automation over 55 parameter sequencing lanes, each equipped with modification tools like scales, arpeggios and patterns. There are some 187 presets to get you going, and DSP algorithms are supplied, in part, by developers Sinevibes and Moditone. Sinevibes, in particular, are pretty well known for their offbeat, unorthodox effects which are, alas, Mac-only.
Overall, I think this is a very interesting plug-in that offers a different approach to effects automation. Automating effects can make any track instantly more dynamic and add interest. There’s lots to try and explore here. To be honest, I can’t recall a recent plug-in with such extensive automation capabilities. Of course, any modern DAW can do elaborate automation, but the way Nuxx packaged it provides a very different workflow that may be more suitable for a producer’s mind.
