GigRig Wetter Box: Blend effects pedals in parallel
Wetter Box - Wetter than an otter's pocket?
GigRig has been teasing its new Wetter Box for a few weeks now, replete with with dodgy black-and-white, ’80s style advertising. But now it is finally here and it looks pretty useful, especially for all you effects pedal addicts out there with large pedalboards.
GigRig Wetter Box
The GigRig Wetter Box allows you to blend your effects pedals in parallel, giving you access to tones that would be difficult to achieve otherwise. It consists of a pair of TRS effects loops compatible with both mono or stereo effects that can easily be blended together using the large central knob on the unit. You also get inputs for an external expression pedal and a remote footswitch as well as the ability to choose between mix or blend options.
This box also gives you independent gain controls on each loop to help get your various pedals to play nicely with each other.
Headroom
The Wetter Box has internal voltage doubling for greater headroom, plus a phase switch for loop B so you can deal with any ‘phase issues’ that may occur when blending two effects. You can set it to either true bypass or trails bypass for loop B as well.
A neat little box that might offer some handy tools for those of you that have lots of effects pedals, especially if you want to try some more experimental combinations.
