Epiphone to release George Thorogood White Fang ES-125 TDC into the wild this summer
A new traditional hollow body archtop with attitude!
The original ES-125 thin-line hollow body was first introduced in 1956 as a student guitar. Now Epiphone is releasing the new limited edition George Thorogood Signature “White Fang” ES-125 model.
The new guitar comes in a distinct Bone White finish with removable “Cobra” sticker. It comes loaded with two ProBucker P-90 single-coil pickups, hopefully offering some sweet single coil tones that should suit vintage-inspired or retro genres. The hollow body is traditional laminate maple with two f-holes and it has a mahogany neck with a 24.75″ Pau Ferro fretboard loaded with 20 medium frets.
The hardware consists of a set of Wilkinson Deluxe 3-in-a-line tuners with ivory buttons, a Pau Ferro floating bridge and a vintage diamond trapeze-style tailpiece. It all looks the part and has a traditional control layout of two volume and tone controls, with a three-way selector switch.
Snakes!
This guitar has a removable snake ‘White Fang’ logo as well as a snake-themed accompanying guard case. There is also George Thorogood’s signature on the rear of the guitar headstock.
Traditional
The package comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, plus a custom hard case with “Snake-Skin” handle. This is one cool-looking vintage-flavoured guitar and it should be shipping to dealers soon. This model was quietly announced at the end of 2018 and I know many players have been awaiting its arrival. Not too long to wait now!
RRP – TBC
