Boss WL-60 wireless system: 14-channels, a big display and up to 25h battery life
New Boss WL-60 wireless system
Coming hot on the heels of its new 200 series pedals, Boss has just announced a new wireless system, WL-60. It’s designed to be easy to use in a live environment and give you the freedom to move around a stage without tripping up over guitar cables.
Boss WL-60 wireless system
The new Boss WL-60 wireless system consists of a body pack transmitter and a pedalboard-mounted receiver. The system has automatic 14-channel scanning, so it will find you the best free channel and avoid any embarrassing clashes with band mates that are also using a wireless system.
You can easily check out the current connection status on the receiver’s built in large format LCD display, making it super clear and easy to see your status, which is perfect for when you are working on dark stages at gigs. No guesswork needed here, thankfully.
25 Hours
Boss states that it will run for up to 25 hours on regular alkaline batteries, which is pretty decent and should be good for players that gig frequently. The receiver can either be powered by an AC adaptor or two AA alkaline batteries, but as it is mounted on your pedalboard, I reckon a DC power supply would make most sense.
Low Latency
The system has a 2.3ms latency and you can choose a virtual cable length, either short or long, to simulate cable resistance. The longer length knocks off a little top end and makes it sound more like standard guitar cable, Boss says. Many players prefer this, so it makes sense to include this feature in a wireless system.
The range is stated at 20 meters / 65 feet line of sight, so large enough for small to large sized gigs. As with most wireless systems, you’ll need to compare the cost and reliability. We don’t yet have official pricing, and as yet no reviews from users, but on paper it looks more than able to handle the job.
You can check out the official Boss demo video with Andy James below, where he covers all the main features and walks you through the basic settings of the WL-60.

just a hint : it’s LC Display or LCD, LCD Display would mean liquid crystal display display.
