Summer NAMM 2019: Line 6 Powercab 212 Plus announced
12 onboard speaker models and 500 watts of stereo power
The new Line 6 Powercab 212 Plus is aimed at professional players, providing an active 500-Watt stereo FRFR cab. Line 6 says the Plus version has upgraded speakers and a proprietary speaker modelling mode.

This active stereo speaker is loaded with twin 12”, custom lightweight neodymium coaxial speakers made by Eminence and a pair of Celestion CDX 1-1010 compression drivers.

Stereo/Dual Mono
Each speaker is driven by a separate 250 Watts, giving you a total of 500 watts in either Stereo or Dual Mono. That’s an ideal setup for anyone running stereo modelled effects. There’s certainly enough power here to cut above the band mix in a live scenario.
The Powercab 212 Plus also has a 2″ LCD, 128 user preset locations, XLR direct outputs, MIDI In/Out, AES/EBU and L6 LINKTM I/O, a multipurpose second input and a handy USB audio connection.

12 onboard speaker models
The 12 included speaker models are based classic speakers like the Greenback and Blue Bell models, amongst others. Third-party IRs are also supported, and can be saved as part of a preset. That opens up a lot of scope for customising your sounds.
This cab is relatively light at 47.6 lbs / 21.6 kg, less than a regular high-quality 2×12 cabinet. But this box still packs a punch and could make gigging a lot easier for players using systems like the Line 6 Helix.
Helix 2.8
If you haven’t seen yesterdays news yet, make sure you update your Helix to 2.8 firmware as it has lots of nice new virtual toys to play with and will make using the new Powercab 212 Plus a lot more fun.
The new Line 6 Powercab 212 Plus is due out in the Autumn – by which time we will all be waiting for the Helix 2.9 update!
