Summer NAMM 2019: Fishman TriplePlay MIDI controller for guitar
Use your guitar to mix like a DJ
Fishman has just introduced its new TriplePlay MIDI controller during Summer NAMM and it looks like this new hardware installs without any major modifications on most electric and acoustic guitars, as the mounting hardware is magnetic.
Fishman TriplePlay MIDI controller
This unit is billed as a low-latency pitch tracking pickup system and comes with a Lightning cable and a USB cable to let you hook up to a PC or Mac and use it with your DAW/music software.
Apple iPad – “Use your guitar to mix like a DJ”
Fishman has also released a companion iPad app. This gives you set of tools for music productions designed specifically for guitar players in mind. It contains virtual instruments and enables you to create and record loops and “use your guitar to mix like a DJ.”
Hexaphonic pickup
The Hexaphonic pickup attached via the Lightning cable has a simple two button controller for changing patch changes. It looks easy to use; in fact, the whole system looks neat. If you’re looking to add MIDI to your guitar setup, this is worth a look. It has the advantage that it’s not invasive, so it won’t ruin your favourite guitar.
You can check out the new Fishman TriplePlay MIDI controller out in their official demo videos below.

One response to “Summer NAMM 2019: Fishman TriplePlay MIDI controller for guitar”
well, Fishman’s Triple Play has been around for many years, just the transmitter part is smaller now. and it’s not for mixing like a DJ at all. it’s for triggering different VST instruments on different strings or areas.
