Qu-Bit Bloom fractal sequencer generates the infinite patterns of life
Announced at NAMM in January the Bloom sequencer from Qu-Bit is now ready for planting in your Eurorack.
Bloom
It’s an interesting sequencer with all sorts of organic ideas like “Root”, “Path”, “Branches” and “Mutation”. It uses a fractal-based algorithm to generate infinitely evolving melodies which you can then shape and influence by leaning on those organic ideas. You start with a base sequence known as a “Trunk” with up to 32 steps. You can program this by hand or generate it through a twist of the Mutation knob. Then playing with Branches will peel off new variations. Path will determine which direction is followed by the sequence and Mutation with regenerate variations. Generated sequences can run up to 256 steps and each turn of a knob takes you on a unique journey through your original melody.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the module, you have more regular sequencer features such as length, scale, order, pattern, slew, rachets, notes and time division. There are two independent channels with pitch and gate outputs.
I think this is going to be totally fascinating especially in places where you just want to sound to evolve and generate. Qu-Bit Bloom seems to be available to preorder for £319.
I found this new short demo on Instagram but otherwise, there’s a video from NAMM below.
