Frusciante rejoins Red Hot Chili Peppers – and his favourite wah is back, too!
Ibanez upgrades its WH10 wah pedal to V3
Ibanez has just released a new V3 incarnation of its classic WH10 wah pedal, as heard on all the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums with John Frusciante. The guitarist is now officially back in the band and Ibanez has fortuitously re-release this classic pedal in an improved version.
Ibanez WH10 V3
The original Ibanez WH10 was used by John Frusciante for years during his time the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The new V3 edition has a multiple feedback op amp circuit, just like the original model.
But Ibanez has also added two modern day upgrades. A sturdy metal housing replaces place the original’s plastic body, while a switchable true/buffered bypass feature is also included. That makes it an enticing proposition for modern-day pedalboard setups.
There side of the pedal houses a depth knob pedal to control the level of effect, as well as a range switch. Guitar: 350Hz – 2.2kHzm Bass: 175Hz – 1.1kHz.
Original units change hands has for inflated prices thanks to the Frusciante association. For Ibanez to re-release this one is great news for fans of the band.
Red Hot Wah
Over and above the good news on this pedal, I think it’s great to hear that John Frusciante is back in the Red Hot Chili Peppers again. Here’s the official announcement last weekend on Instagram:
