NAMM 2020: Neunaber Audio releases the Wet Reverberator plug-in
Why leave it to others to release your hardware as a plug-in, when you can do it yourself? Neunaber Audio has announced the Wet Reverberator plug-in, based on a reverb algorithm from the popular Immerse Reverberator MkII pedal.

One look at the plug-in’s GUI colour scheme makes it clear that it shares the same DNA as the company’s long-running and highly regarded Immerse Reverberator pedal. The Wet Reverberator plug-in is based on the W3T algorithm from the MkII version of the pedal. It’s the third evolutionary stage of the patented algorithm, which has been refined over the span of ten years, Neunaber Audio says.
According to Neunaber Audio, the plug-in was coded by the same person who also designed the algorithm for the pedal. It’s important to note, however, that the plug-in is not an exact software adaptation of the pedal. It only contains the W3T algorithm, which is just one of the pedal’s eight reverbs. But it’s probably the most unique and interesting one. Neunaber says that it has the ability to add spaciousness while maintaining clarity, or “enhance your mix without covering it up”, as they put it.
Additional controls
Not facing the same user interface restrictions as on the pedal, Neunaber Audio has set the algorithm free and given the plug-in many more controls. You can adjust the size and shape of the reverb with mix, delay, attack and decay sliders. There’s an EQ section with a tilt EQ and lowpass / highpass filters. In addition to a damping slider, the plug-in lets you adjust the damping frequency. An LFO takes care of pitch modulation, and you can play with the Bits and Width sliders to adjust the reverb’s fidelity.
I’m looking forward to this release. The Immerse Reverberator II is a very popular and acclaimed reverb pedal, and the fact that its flagship algorithm can now be had in plug-in form is great news.
Price and compatibility
The Neunaber Audio Wet Reverberator plug-in is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AAX and AU formats (64 bit only). The plug-in will come out on February 2, 2020, Neunaber Audio says. The introductory price is USD 49, which will later increase to USD 99.
