NAMM 2020: Charvel Satchel Signature Pro-Mod DK Satin Purple Bengal
This year’s Charvel Satchel Signature Pro-Mod DK comes in an eye-watering Satin Purple Bengal finish. The Steel Panther guitarist knows how to be subtle and so this one is for all you wallflowers. Not!
Purple Monster People Eater
Russ “Satchel” Parrish is an awesome guitarist and no stranger to controversy. A member of well-known ’80s hair metal band Steel Panther, his guitars have always been over-the-top in look and playability.
Last year we saw the release of the Slime Green Bengal model and for 2020 there is a new Satin Purple Bengal finish, which is just as subtle.
Fishman Fluence
The guitar comes loaded with a set of Fishman Fluence PRF-CHB Classic humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions, to give this big cat its growl. The pickups have black and purple bobbins to match the body colour. The Dinky style Pro-Mod body shape is handmade out of alder.
The bolt-on, Graphite Reinforcement maple neck has the typical 12″-16″ compound radius, with rolled edges and 22 jumbo frets. It comes with a hand-rubbed Satin Urethane finish. Perfect for fat riffs and fast solos!
You also get a Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking trem system, so no excuses to not dive-bomb with this guitar and make this cat scream.
Cheaper than last year?
I love the way this guitar looks, but am wondering why it is only listed at $1399, compared to last year when the list price was over $1900 at the time of release? Could production of this model have been moved to somewhere new for 2020? Charvel’s website doesn’t state the place of manufacture, so we will have wait and see. The previous versions were all made in Mexico and so far, I assume this one is as well.
RRP – USD 1399
