NAMM 2020: Walrus Audio MAKO Series – D1 High-Fidelity Stereo Delay
Walrus Audio announces the new Mako Series with the D1, a powerful new multi-function delay pedal with five studio-grade, high-fidelity settings.
Walrus Audio MAKO Series D1
The new Walrus Audio MAKO Series D1 has five different delay programs – Digital, Mod, Vintage, Dual and Reverse. Each of the five programs can be fully customised by using the Tweak knob, which has three settings . When switched to Mod, the control can be used to add modulation to the delay trails. When the switch is on the Tone setting, the knob lets you brighten or darken the sound of your delay trails as well. On the Age option, you can add what Walrus Audio describe as the ‘grit and wear’ of vintage delay units.
The subdivisions changes are between quarter, eighth and dotted eighth notes. Last up is the Attack knob which will soften the attack of the echoes.
Presets and true-bypass
The pedal has nine on-board presets but up to 128 are accessible via MIDI. You also have three bypass settings – True bypass, DSP+True Bypass (trails) and DSP Bypass.
Tempo control
The D1 has global and preset tempo modes, plus a press and hold bypass switch, so you can ramp up the repeats of the delay or release it to set the feedback back to the knob location. There is also a dedicated tap tempo footswitch, as you would expect with a high end delay pedal such as this.
