Epiphone 2016 Summer NAMM range launched
New for 2016 and launched at the Summer NAMM Show, this new range of Epiphone guitars includes some really interesting looking instruments based on classic designs from the past.
Below is a brief roundup of the models and release dates with street pricing currently in US Dollars.
Les Paul Traditional PRO-II
This is based on a Gibson Traditional and has Epiphone ProBucker-3 Alnico II and Alnico Classic PRO pickups with a 15dB boost on the bridge tone pot for when you need a little more; it’s powered by a 9v battery . It also has coil splits on both pickups as well, potentially making this a very versatile gigging guitar.
RRP USD $499 available in August. Comes in Ebony, Desertburst, Ocean Blue, Vintage Sunburst and Wine Red.
1966 Century Archtop
A lovely looking guitar, this is based on an original ’66 with a thin line body made from laminate and a mahogany neck. It also has Epiphone’s new P90 Pro pickups. I love the look of this one, and it’s not too expensive, either.
RRP USD $599 available in July. Comes in Cherry and Vintage Sunburst Aged Gloss finishes.
Les Paul Special VE…
…is a super low-budget Les Paul guitar for anyone that either wants a cheap instrument to get started. It has a bolt-on neck and the main body is made from poplar. All this keeps the cost down and gets you an Epiphone at a very, very reasonable price.
RRP USD $149 Available from July. Comes in Vintage Worn finishes. Cherry, Ebony, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Vintage Sunburst, and Walnut.
1955 Les Paul Custom Outfit Limited Edition
Based on the famous 1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom, this guitar features the original P90 pickups and is a very cool looking guitar. It’s a limited edition for 2016 that I imagine will be very popular.
RRP USD $799 available in June
