Hit’n’Mix Infinity “atomic” audio editor updated to version 4.5
Hit’n’Mix has released Infinity 4.5. The audio editing software lets you work with individual notes, harmonics and percussive sounds, providing a MIDI-like workflow. Among other improvements, the latest version of Infinity adds new importing and exporting capabilities, new editing tools and auto-detection features.
Hit’n’Mix Infinity 4.5
Hit’n’Mix Infinity is an audio editor with a similar concept to Celemony Melodyne. The software analyzes audio files and displays individual notes and unpitched sounds. You can then edit audio events like MIDI notes, manipulate harmonics and add harmonies. By “unlocking” audio tracks, Infinity can be used to fix the pitch and timing, re-quantize events, correct errors after recording, add instrument parts, and re-balance a mix. Hit’n’Mix calls this “atomic audio editing”. The software also offers a selection of scripts for automated edits. You can even create your own RipScripts using Python and the built-in RipScript editor.
The latest version of Infinity is a free update for existing users. It comes with several new features and improvements, such as:
- Ripping and exporting video (Mac only), MIDI, and other formats
- Instrument Palette for importing your own samples into rips
- The note editor now lets you remove background and foreground noise
- New Audioshop tools: Draw Instrument, Replace Instrument, Cutter and Join
- Improved editing features like selection, zooming and loop markers
- Scale and key changes can now be detected automatically
- Better tempo detection
DAW integration
Infinity integrates with your DAW in a variety of ways. Pro Tools users can use the included InfinityLink AudioSuite plug-in. In other DAWs like Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro X, ACID Pro, Reaper, Digital Performer and Mixcraft, Infinity can be set up as a default external audio editor. A direct offline processing plug-in for Cubase and Nuendo is in the works. Unfortunately, Infinity does not offer ARA2 support (yet?), which would be a more convenient option for ARA-enabled DAWs like Cubase, Nuendo, Logic and Reaper.
Price and compatibility
Hit’n’Mix Infinity 4.5 is available for Windows and macOS. The update is free for existing owners of Infinity. A new license costs USD 349 / GBP 299 / EUR 339. Until March 31, 2020, Hit’n’Mix is offering a 20% discount on these prices.
