Synergy has just unveiled two new preamp modules: Bogner Ecstasy and Ubershall. These recreate both the Red and Blue channels on each amp. Both units utilise 12AX7 tubes to provide that special Bogner valve tone within Synergy’s modular preamp system.

Boutique Preamp tone

Synergy has teamed up with legendary boutique guitar amp maker Bogner to recreate the company’s classic Ecstasy and ultra-high-gain Uberschall amp tones. Following on from their recent Steve Vai signature preamp earlier this month, these two new models further extend the Synergy modular amp range.

Red & Blue

These new Synergy/Bogner preamp modules each have two individual channels. What makes it great for players is that these are based on the Red and Blue channels of the original amps. The former Red channel being the higher gain/distortion side, whilst the Blue still has plenty of gain, but is more akin to an overdriven amp. Each Blue and Red channel has controls for Gain, Volume, three-band EQ, pre EQ and Schizo switches, labelled cut and boost switches on the Uberschall preamp.

Each preamp is all tube and based around a pair of 12AX7 preamp valves, with a Dual/Single switch that allows the modules to be used with older Egnater and Randall hardware. They also have a three-position cathode select switch to configure the input tube bias setting. This allows you to set it for optimum input gain and bass response, making these preamps pretty versatile.

Both these preamps have been designed in cooperation with Reinhold Bogner, so expect some great sounding high-gain tones here.

RRP – USD 399.99 each
