No strings attached

The first thing you will notice with the Zeppelin Design Labs mod is that they have removed the need for a string attached to a potentiometer. This alleviates wear and tear over time. Plus, you’ll never suffer from a noisy volume pot again! Instead a magnet and Hall effect sensor detect the pedal movement, so it’ll never wear out. Genius.

Analogue

The analogue signal path now has digital control with response curves to choose from, out of the box: Linear, Logarithmic, and two different Reverse Logarithmic. Plus, you can set the pedals maximum and minimum volume points to any position along the treadle movement.

You can also add up to 14 dB of gain, so the pedal will have enough output to drive your amp into overdriven tones. That adds more versatility. And there is also an optional stereo output mod that you can order too. This Stereo Upgrade can then be configured for either traditional stereo or pan actions. You can also opt for the Expression Upgrade, which can then be configured to control a huge variety of expression pedals.

Build Options

The cheapest option is the DIY Kit which has everything you need to build your own modded Ernie Ball Jr pedal. It requires soldering and so you will need to be confident with a soldering iron.

Or you can go for the Ready-to-Install Yourself version, which is fully assembled. You just fit the pre-wired boards in your Ernie Ball Jr pedal with little more than a screw driver. With no soldering required, this may be a good bet for most. Last up is the Full Service and with this option you send in your Ernie Ball Jr and they take care of everything, so no hassles.

RRP – USD 69.00 – USD 255.00
