The new Dean NashVegas Select Series is a T-Style guitar with vintage lines, but adapted to infuse an age-old shape with some serious attitude. The range includes some striking Black Satin and Metallic Red Satin finishes that will give you some stage presence.

Mean Ts

The NashVegas body is made from basswood combined with a classic T-style bolt-on 25 ½’’ inch scale length neck with dual-action truss rod. This model comes with a 12-inch radius ebony fretboard loaded with 22 jumbo frets and maple neck so it should have plenty of snap and bite when required. The neck has set of pearloid dot inlays and Grover tuners to hold the tuning.

Locking or hard tail?

You can choose between a hard tail bridge setup or, if you fancy some dive-bombing, a Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo. With the former version, Dean uses its own proprietary Cadi tailpiece to keep everything stable.

Now for the pickups. All models in this range are loaded with a set of Seymour Duncan APH-1N and TB-5 humbucking pickups, which should give you plenty of decent tones. These humbuckers have a zebra parchment finish and sand-blasted pole pieces to make them standout a bit more from the crowd. They’re wired via a three-way switch to a single volume and tone control.

NashVegas Select Series

These new Dean NashVegas Select Series looks pretty formidable, mainly because of those two finishes. The Metallic Red Satin is a real eye-catcher. Even the more understated Black Satin still has plenty of aesthetic attitude.

If you fancy a modern T-Style guitar with twin humbuckers, then these two models are worth checking out. Price-wise they come in to a similar bracket as the Charvel Joe Duplantier signature models. I think the price is about right on these new NashVegas Select Series. Dean has opted for decent hardware and these models should be a good bet if you are in the market for these specs.

RRP – USD 749 for the hard tail version and USD 849 with a Floyd Rose
