The NI Traktor Kontrol S3 controller pairs with the included full version of Traktor Pro 3. With four decks, integrated effects, sampling and remix decks, this is an ultra-flexible setup for DJing and live streaming.
The controller offers a four-channel mixing section with long level meters, full length faders, 3-band equalizers, dedicated cueing and mixer effects. The two deck sections have large jog wheels with RGB light rings, long pitch faders and eight RGB pads each for hotcues, save loops, oneshots and samples. Each side also offers dedicated loop control and navigation buttons.
The integrated audio interface is compatible with Windows PCs and Macs and runs at 24 bits and 44.1/48 kHz. It offers RCA and XLR main outputs, and there’s an additional stereo booth output for monitoring. A stereo RCA line input lets you connect external gear. Two headphone outputs and a microphone input (XLR-1/4″ combo) are located on the front side of the controller.
In addition to the USB port for connecting to a computer, the Traktor Kontrol S3 features an iOS port. This lets you hook up an iPad and use the controller with the Traktor DJ iOS app for a compact, portable setup.
While it’ll be a while until the clubs reopen in many parts of the world, Traktor DJ’s session recorder and broadcast features make this a great setup for streaming DJ sets, as well.
