Harley Benton SC-Custom II Silver Burst
Harley Benton’s latest model has a mahogany body and neck, as is traditional for single-cut models. It comes in a fancy satin Silver Burst finish. The Modern C-profile neck that is fitted with a roasted Jatoba fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. This model also has a redesigned neck join for better upper fret access, which will be useful for those doing a lot of solos.
Roswell loaded
This model comes factory fitted with a pair of Harley Benton’s Roswell LAF AlNiCo-5 humbuckers finished in black. These are wired via twin volume controls and a single tone control via a three-way switch. Other hardware includes a black WSC Tune-O-Matic bridge, Grover tuners and a graphite nut, which will all help with tuning stability on this guitar.
Harley Benton SC-550 Silver Burst
Harley Benton has added the new Silver Burst finish as an option on its SC-550 model, bringing this great look to the already popular single-cut range. The differences here are the ’60s neck profile and the fretboard, although it’s also made from jatoba the wood isn’t roasted.
On the hardware side, the SC-550 uses chrome WSC Kluson-style tuners instead of Grovers, though you still get the same WSC Tune-O-Matic bridge and graphite nut. The pickups are also Roswell LAF AlNiCo-5 in chrome, wired through two volume controls, two tone controls to a three-way switch.
