Harley Benton ST-Travel: The perfect travel companion?
Harley Benton has a cheap and cheerful solution for guitarists on the move: the new ST-Travel guitar in Candy Apple Red. This minimalist ST-style design is aimed squarely at those who never want to be without a six-string on hand. Read on to see what makes this such an ideal travel instrument.
Harley Benton ST-Travel Candy Apple Red
The Harley Benton ST-Travel Candy Apple Red is a slimmed down Strat-style instrument, with a Basswood body that has been sculpted away around the pickguard. By losing all this extra wood, the guitar is considerably smaller in size and much easier to transport. And because it has a standard scale-length, it should still feel and play like a full-size instrument.
Full sized neck
The ST-Traveller has a bolt-on design with a C-shaped maple neck and matching fingerboard, 22 frets, and black dot inlays. It has the standard ST-style 25.5″ scale length, which is nice to see, as most guitars of this sort will compromise here, and end up with a cramped, smaller fretboard.
A familiar layout
The guitar has a standard ST-style layout with a two-pivot tremolo system, and three single-coil pickups wired via a volume, two tones, and a five-way blade switch. Most guitarists will be familiar with this layout, as it is one of the most popular ones out there.
Because of the body being shaved away, the trem hangs off the back edge, which might take some getting used to. The output jack, as well as the strap buttons, are mounted on the rear of the guitar for the same reason. All these design choices have really made this a neat and compact little guitar, and without sacrificing the scale-length.
What’s really great about this guitar is that it comes at a ridiculously cheap price – with a gig-bag! If you’re looking for a guitar to travel with and take on holiday, the ST-Travel could be a very serious contender.

The video is for the Traveler guitar. It is NOT the Harley Benton. Traveler is a USA company.
