Solar Guitars announce new 6- and 7-string Canibalismo V.1 models
Ola Englund's understated V.1 model gets a subtle new finish
Ola Englund’s guitar brand Solar Guitars’ new V1.6 and V1.7 Canibalismo models both look very metal and come outfitted with some serious hardware, including an EverTune bridge system. You’d definitely be making a bold statement with any one of these two Flying V-style axes.
Canibalismo V.1
Ola Englund’s none-more-metal Solar Guitars V1.6 and V1.7 both look like weapons of mass destruction, especially with that bright red Canibalismo finish and distressed black hardware. Each guitar comes with an EverTune bridge system, 24 stainless steel frets, Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, and Duncan Solar pickups.

Extreme Shape
The bodies are made of Swamp Ash and are carved into a modern V-style that Solar calls V1. If you’ve been looking for a modern Flying V- style guitar, then you should certainly entertain getting one of these models. Both versions have extreme-metal-riff written throughout their DNA, and should sound nice and dirty at full volume, with a large amp behind them.

6-string & 7-string
Both models have a 25.5″ scale-length and a three-piece maple neck with a thin C profile, and a nice dark ebony fingerboard with a lone blood red 12th fret inlay that matches the Canibalismo finish.
Other hardware includes a set of Solar 18:1 locking tuners and a graphite nut. The pickups are wired via a single volume control and a three-way toggle switch, so you can get straight down to business. It is great to see both 6- and 7-string versions available at launch, as it covers what most players would want from a modern Flying V-style guitar.
