Elektron Analog Four and Analog Rytm MkII get a new look
They call it “Refined, Rewrought and Reborn” the Analog Four synthesizer and Analog Rytm drum machine get some new clothes and new content.
Rewrought
That’s a fabulous word right there – Rewrought – conjures up all sorts of images of something being reworked, bashed into a new shape with a rethought meaning and rediscovered intention. But the Analog Four MkII and Analog Rytm MkII have been around for ages and this isn’t the announcement of the MkIII, this is a little bit of redesign.
They’ve been redesigned to match with the more recent aesthetic of the Digitakt and Digitone and they look very smart indeed. The enclosure has a sleek black finish and a complimentary back-lit colour palette.
But wait there’s more. The factory content has also been rewrought (or overwrought) with new sounds, new patterns and new content.
The likes of Eraldo Bernocchi, Lucifer’s Aid, Spit Mask, and (d) glitched, as well as the dedicated Elektron team from across the globe, have collected a fresh bank of patterns and kits to tap into – giving you access to a variety of awesome audio straight out of the box.
To get the fullest impact of this transformation you really need to check out the video.

Both the Analog Four and the Analog Rytm are fantastic machines. The Analog Four is a 4-voice synthesizer box of fabulous power and in-depth editing, the Analog Rytm is an 8-voice drum machine and sampler that’s hard to beat. I think the new cases are a cool way to update the look of tried and tested machines while new content is always welcome. The whole “Refined, Rewrought and Reborn” thing is a bit overdone and tugs on all my sarcasm triggers which is a shame because there’s nothing wrong with improving the look of your products – they just need to wind it in a bit.
The black versions of both should be available now, although the grey ones are still in stock in some places so check before you buy. The Analog Four MkII retails for £1,199 and the Analog Rytm MkII goes for £1,379.

I love their gear and this new look is better than the previous design but they need to fire their marketing team, this promotion is just awful.
Yep this is not a new product. What we really need is an 8 voice A8 and 16 voice Digitone.
