Ground Control Audio has just announced a new stompbox called the Noodles Tone Shaper, a neat looking boost with three independent EQ channels. Could this be perfect for sculpting some fresh, sweet guitar tones? A simple user interface with a lot of options at your disposal: we think this pedal is one to watch out for.

This new Noodles Tone Shaper pedal from Ground Control Audio looks very well laid out and super neat. The premise is pretty simple and it is essentially three independent EQ sections that you can use to boost the signal going the front end of your favourite amp. You have gain controls for Bass, Middle and Treble, with a footswitch to engage each section. Usefully, the pedal also has push buttons for cycling through the three frequency options available for each channel.
Triple Boost
All you do is choose the frequency you want to boost, then dial in the corresponding purple knob to set how much gain you want to add. It’s kind of like having three easy-to-adjust boosts at your disposal: a very handy tool indeed! You can use each channel one at a time, or go hog wild and engage as may as you see fit. Three EQ options are available per channel for 64 EQ filter combinations to choose from. The selectable frequencies are as follows: Bass – 40Hz, 100Hz, 280Hz, Middle – 400Hz – 2.8KHz, 800Hz – 2KHz, 1KHz – 1.5KHz and Treble – 2.8KHz, 4KHz, 6KHz.

Tons of EQ with a simple interface
The Noodles Tone Shaper pedal uses the same pre-amp technology as the Amaterasu pre-amp and Tsukuyomi mid-range booster. It is digitally controlled with a solid state analogue signal routing system based around the ARM Cortex-M micro-controller platform. This all means you get some great preset EQ options, with minimal fuss and lots of combinations at your disposal.
What a great concept! I like that they gave us three channels of boost to play with. That really opens up what you can do with a simple amp setup and could make the Noodles Tone Shaper a powerful tool in your rig. Pre-orders are open now, with a little discount for early adopters.
