Possible new Epiphone Jared James Nichols Goldtop signature model on the horizon
New Goldtop teased on Instagram
Is Jared James Nichols about to get a Goldtop version of his popular Old Glory Epiphone signature model? Well, we can’t say for sure, but he is certainly teasing one on his Instagram page.
Goldtop Glory
It would make perfect sense for Epiphone to carry on the Jared James Nichols signature Old Glory model into 2021, and a Goldtop version would be an obvious winner. Is that what the guitarist shared on his Instagram post? My guess is that this could be a production model being teased. There isn’t much to go on, but the post would suggest that it may have the same Seymour Duncan P90 pickup as the original run.

New Signature colour for 2021?
In the Instagram photo, the Goldtop doesn’t sport the ‘Blues Power‘ plate behind the bridge, which could be a good move as many players were not fond of it. I would rather see the model ship with the plate as an optional extra, that you could affix afterwards if you wanted. So I’m down with it not having one.

Currently, the model is only available in a Black Aged Gloss finish, so a Goldtop version would be most welcome. And it’s likely that it’ll come with the new Epiphone headstock shape, which would be a bonus. Let us know what you think in the comments section below. Is this new colour something you would buy? And would you like it with or without that Blues Power plate attached?

It is looking pretty good in this new Gibson Riff Lords video, so expect an official release date and price soon. I’ll keep you all informed if I see any more information.

Yes, aged nitro finish with the P90 would be nice, without the plate, new headstock,fret board inlays or dot, 60″s style neck and dot markers in the binding. Perfect.
