iConnectivity AUDIO4c: multi-platform audio and MIDI interface for USD 399
iConnectivity has just announced the AUDIO4c, a new audio and MIDI interface that is compatible with macOS, Windows, Android and iOS. In addition to recording and MIDI, the interface is designed to handle streaming and live performance duties. If you’re a producer who likes using tablets or phones in your workflow, this box could be right up your street.

With four XLR/instrument inputs, four line outputs, headphone connection, and MIDI (DIN, USB), the AUDIO4c is well-equipped at the price. The rear panel has LED indicators and a jog wheel for gain/volume adjustments. Of note is the presence of dual USB-C ports which connect to two devices simultaneously, charge them, and exchange audio and MIDI. There’s also the USB-MIDI Host port that lets you connect up to 8 USB MIDI class-compliant devices through a USB hub. That’s some serious MIDI mojo, let’s just hope the drivers won’t dropout with so many MIDI streams. The interface is powered from an external adapter. Audio conversion tops out at 24-bit / 96khz. If you aren’t a 192kHz fanatic, that will surely suffice.
The proprietary Auracle app for macOS and Windows lets you configure and monitor the signal path for recording and streaming. It creates up to three virtual stereo mixes – one for outputs 1 and 2, one for outputs 3 and 4, and one for the headphones. Additional bundled software includes Big Fish Audio samples and a copy of Ableton Live Lite.
All in all, the AUDIO4c hits a sweet price point and looks right on the money. Quite the little workhorse for both musicians and streamers, indeed.

Priced USD 399, the iConnectivity AUDIO4c is compatible with macOS, Windows, iOS (version 8 or newer) and Android (version 8 or newer) devices. iOS devices with Lightning connectors require the Apple camera connection kit, and Android need a USB-C connector. The Auracle app runs under macOS (from 10.11) and Windows (from 10).
