Fluid Strike tuned percussion released by In Session Audio
Have you ever sat there playing Minecraft when you suddenly have the realisation that the background music is completely genius? Listening to the sounds of the imaginatively named Fluid Strike is very reminiscent of the Minecraft soundtrack. So maybe it’s just what you need when you want to craft soundscapes rather than worlds.
Fluid Strike
It’s a Kontakt Instrument designed to help you create richly layered melodic percussive patterns with ease. There are samples from 30 acoustic tuned percussion instruments made from a whole range of materials. Each one has been beaten, slapped and scraped in various different ways with an assortment of sticks, beaters, hammers, bows, brushes, fingers, hands and probably feet.
The sounds are split into 7 categories including two sorts of arps, pulses, solo, pads, ambient and sequences. The pads are an unexpected treat. There’s a whole bunch of reverb impulses and 64 fx presets.
The playback engine is all about 3’s. You can load 3 sounds into 3 layers of their Triple Play engine. Each layer can be modulated and automated individually. When taken in combination it can support up to 31 simultaneous effects. Each layer has a built in arpeggiator giving you a lot of movement and rhythmic elements. I am struck by the earthiness and organic nature of what I’m hearing. It’s quite a unique collection of sounds.
The cost of Fluid Strike is $249.99. It will be on offer for $179.99 when it’s released tomorrow through until 25th September. It requires Kontakt 5.5 and above and won’t work on the free player.
