The T1.6 AN is Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars newest distressed T-Style shredder, a whole new shape for the brand. This model comes in an aged natural matte finish that makes it look like some sort of functional six-stringed weapon.
Solar Guitars T1.6 AN
The new T1.6 AN from Solar Guitars is loosely based on a T-style shape. It is a set-thru neck/body joint design, with a 25.5” scale length maple neck and ebony fingerboard, and an alder body. You get 24 stainless steel frets and a huge scoop on the lower horn, for better upper fret access. The guitar comes in an aged natural matte finish with a distressed look, and a matching aged metal pickguard.

Hardware
Hardware includes an Evertune F-type bridge, Solar 18:1 ratio locking tuners, graphite nut and a set of Duncan Solar humbucking pickups. The pickups are wired via a single tone and volume control, and a 5-way blade switch for versatility and splits on those coils. Elsewhere you get Luminlay glow-in-the-dark fretboard side dots and the 12th fret Solar logo, which have become staples of the brand.

Overall, I really like the look of this guitar. It looks a bit steampunk-meets_battle-axe, which probably suits the market that it is aimed at. 7-String?
Maybe we’ll see a 7-string version in the not too distant future? I think a 7-string version would be a smart idea for the brand, since it is aimed at modern players. This new shape would be perfect for an extended range or 7-string guitar.
