Accentize SpectralBalance

Accentize is known for a range of plug-ins that deal with audio restoration, reverb removal and other tricky tasks and are mainly aimed at the post production and speech processing markets. Many of the company’s products utilize advanced concepts like machine learning and neural networks to accomplish things that conventional processors cannot do. With SpectralBalance, Accentize has just released yet another plug-in specifically designed for speech.

This is good news for anyone dealing with speech and dialogue recordings, be it in podcasting, video production, content creation or another field. Achieving a consistent sound can be tricky, especially if the recording was made outside of the studio, on location or in a less-than-perfect room.

SpectralBalance is an automatic equalizer that constantly analyzes the source material and adapts the EQ curve accordingly. The goal is to achieve a consistently clear and natural sound. By adapting to the audio signal in an instant, SpectralBalance can potentially save you the hassle of painstakingly automating the EQ on your speech tracks to even out imbalances. This can be a great time saver, especially if you’re dealing with multiple speakers and takes.

In automatic mode, SpectralBalance listens and adapts over 50 times per second, Accentize says. You can adjust the adaption amount and speed. In static mode, the plug-in gives you precise controls for the spectral modifications. SpectralBalance can derive the static curve from a snapshot or you can let the plug-in listen for a few seconds.

Accentize says that the neural networks used in SpectralBalance have been optimized to keep the required processing power to a minimum. They claim that it’s light enough on your CPU to run several instances at once, and that it’s even useful for live applications.

Price and compatibility

Accentize SpectralBalance is now available for an introductory price of €112. This offer expires on February 28, 2021. The regular price will be €159. A 7-day trial version is available.

The plug-in runs on Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.12 or higher in VST3, AU and AAX formats.
