AccuSonus and ADSR give away Regroover Essential free until June 20
ADSR and AccuSonus have worked out a banger of an offer. Regroover Essential, a slick $99 tool for chopping and re-arranging beats with the power of artificial intelligence, is going free until June 20. Free, as in: you can have the whole thing on PC and Mac right now if you want it. It’s an enticing bit of promotion for a piece of kit that anyone busy bashing beats should be highly interested in. It’s an advanced drum beat chopper and re-arranger, the kind of stuff electronic and hip-hop producers love (or love-hate) spending quality time on.
Regroover can break down recorded loops into layers and lets you manipulate individual elements by adjusting their volume, or re-ordering them how you wish. You can go further by applying effects like gate, EQ, and compression – all very basic, but workable. This way, you can squeeze stuff out of your loops you would never think of while using more conventional tools and approaches. Regroover is also good for isolating a beat’s individual elements and coming up with unique-sounding arrangements by creatively abusing the tool’s controls and features.
Regroover Essential has the bulk of Regroover Pro‘s features, though the latter is a more fleshed-out groovebox. At $219, it’s a bit overpriced considering one can get FXPansion’s very powerful Geist 2 for $199. But all the research and development that goes into Regroover’s artificial intelligence engine serves to explain the higher price tag.
AccuSonus is shooting for something different and innovative. To grab Regroover Essential, head over to ADSR, register, grab your product keys and go chop some Led Zeppelin drum loops. After June 20, it’s available for the roughly the same price listed on sites like Thomann. Regroover Essential is available in VST, AU, and AAX formats for Windows and macOS. It takes about 250MB of disk space, so don’t worry if you are tight on megabytes after your latest sample downloading/recording mayhem.
