Acoustica Audio Sounda makes the sound of top Italian producers easy
Acustica Audio Sounda is the first release in the developer’s Fire series of one-knob plug-ins with the backing of established producers. In this case, Acustica Audio enlisted two of Italy’s biggest award-winning names with decades of experience. They are Salvatore Addeo and Don Joe. The result looks promising!
Acustica Audio Sounda
Sounda is a combination of EQ and Clipper algorithms working behind the scenes to bring some algorithmic magic to vocals, kick and snare drums, and bass. These have been considered the key elements of a mix during the plug-in’s development. The goal is to help give them a professional and modern sound.
Normally, mixing a track requires many plug-ins, big track counts, and spending a lot of time with experiments. This may stand in the way of inspiration and workflow. Sounda probably isn’t a panacea for saving mixes, but it can get you started right easily. Choosing the right processing has been done for you.
Behind these decisions is the ‘know-how’ of established Italian producers. Acustica helped distill their workflow into an easy to use plug-in with a small number of appropriate controls. The plug-in features parameters for Wet / Dry Mix, Force, Modes (Kick, Snare, Vocal, Bass), Input Trim, and Output gain.
The signal flow in Sounda starts with the input audio going through an EQ, Clipper, and finally, the up-front Dry / Wet mix knob. Metering includes both Input and Output signals. Additionally, oversampling from 4x up to 32x is supported.
All in all, it’s an interesting release for Acustica. It’s an example of how such simplified, one-knob plug-ins can help novice and intermediate producers dial-in solid sounds quickly. Fans of Italian producers will also rejoice from the ability to get closer to their sound quality at a reasonable price.
