Analog Four MK2 synthesizer announced by Elektron with welcome updates
Following the Octatrack MK2 announcement, Elektron went on to update its Analog Four polyphonic synthesizer! The Analog Four MK2 is styled in the same vein as the Octa MK2, colored in silver and featuring new back-lit buttons in the style of the Digitact sampler and sequencer. Elektron went far and ahead into revitalizing the synthesizer, which is several years old now. The unit costs 1449 EUR / 1349 USD and will be available in September. Elektron also unveiled the Analog Rytm MK2, check out our article with a first feature list…
Notably, Elektron has reworked the analog circuitry to deliver deeper and more defined low-end. The overdrive has been touched up as well, now sounding angrier, with more bite and growl. An OLED display has been added for better visibility in the dark, and the buttons have been changed for durable back-lit ones. More dedicated controls are available as well, for easier navigation and performance. There’s a pair of stereo outputs for each voice. The unit is housed in a sleek cast aluminum box and now has expression and CV inputs for external control. Overbridge performs faster, too, thanks to increased bandwidth. Do you think these changes justify the unit being costlier than the Analog Keys with its integrated three-octave keyboard?
