Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig Update: Now with Immersive Monitor Control & More

[23 January 2025] The Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig audio interface gets a big upgrade! The new firmware comes with loads of enhancements such as immersive monitor control, comprehensive bass management, group monitor tools, and much more. One of the most versatile audio interfaces for modern studios just got even better!
Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig 2.0
When Arturia launched the AudioFuse 16Rig back in 2023, it immediately caught the attention of many studio owners: finally, a reasonably affordable audio interface with 16 onboard analog line inputs! If you had lots of synths or external effects, the 16Rig was probably high up on your wish list.
And now, the AudioFuse 16Rig gets even better. With the 2.0 firmware update released today, Arturia has added lots of new features – and this time, it’s mostly about the output side.
With the new update, the AudioFuse 16Rig gets immersive monitor control for up to 16 speakers. This means you can run a complete Dolby Atmos or surround system in any format up to 9.1.6 without the need for an expensive monitor manager. Any combination of the interface’s analog and ADAT outputs can be used.
In addition to precise volume trim for each speaker, the feature also includes level matching and up to 20 ms of time alignment per speaker, so you can calibrate your system to sound its absolute best. Each speaker can also have its own crossover frequency and filter slope for precise bass management. Impressive!

Furthermore, the 2.0 update introduces group monitor tools for muting or soloing groups of speakers with a single button. The MUTE, DIM, REF, and BM controls are easily accessible from the hardware or the AFCC control panel.
If you work to picture and sit at a distance from your screen (e.g. when using a projector), timing can become a problem. In this case, simply use the new global lip-sync feature of the AudioFuse 16Rig to apply up to 20 ms of overall delay to keep your video perfectly synced.
Other features of the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig 2.0 update include a pink noise generator for setup and calibration, auto-restart after power cuts (great if you use a master power switch in your studio), monitor knob locking to prevent accidental adjustments, instant return to a calibrated reference level, and more PPQN options for the clock output. The interface can also now send the cue mix to multiple destinations.
An impressive update that makes the AudioFuse 16Rig even more versatile! The 2.0 firmware update is available now from the manufacturer’s website.

Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig Audio Interface: Leave Everything Plugged In!
[24 October 2023] The new Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig boasts 16 analog inputs, eight DC-coupled outputs, a standalone mixer with flexible routing, and then some. If you’ve got lots of stuff to connect, this could be your new audio interface.
The AudioFuse 16Rig is the new flagship of Arturia’s successful AudioFuse line. Building on the experience gained during the development of the smaller interfaces, the 16Rig is an impressive rack-mount or desktop interface designed to serve as the creative hub of your studio. Got lots of synths or external effects? With a plethora of ins and outs, the AudioFuse 16Rig allows you to leave everything connected and route any signal to where you want it to go.

With 16 analog line inputs, the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig seems a perfect match for studios with a lot of gear such as synths, grooveboxes, or external effects. You also get two XLR-1/4” combo jacks on the front, so there’s a place to connect your mics, as well. Inputs 3 and 4 are mirrored on the front on a minijack connector, which is great for plugging in a media player or other portable gear.
On the output side, the AudioFuse 16Rig features no less than eight analog line outputs. These are DC-coupled, so they can run your modular. In addition, there’s a pair of outputs for your monitors.
But that’s not all. The AudioFuse 16Rig also features dual ADAT I/Os for up to 16 additional channels, so you won’t run out of channels anytime soon. You also get Word Clock I/O and MIDI (1x In, 2x Out/Thru). The interface connects to the computer via USB-C. In addition, there are three USB-A ports for connecting additional gear (2 on the front, 1 on the back).

Comprehensive Routing
This impressive array of I/O is complemented by equally powerful internal mixing and routing capabilities. The AudioFuse 16Rig offers two low-latency internal mixers, which let you route signals any way you want. According to Arturia, things like multiple effect send/returns, quick A/B speaker monitoring, and more are easy to set up via the AudioFuse Control Center software. You can even use the interface standalone for DAWless sessions. A nice color display provides real-time feedback on levels, settings, and more.
Is the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig the interface electronic studios have been waiting for? With a huge amount of flexible connectivity, I think it’s got a lot going for it.
