Atomix VirtualDJ 2025 Drops With Mind-Blowing StemSwap Sampler
Atomix VirtualDJ 2025 throws down the gauntlet with StemSwap Sampler, a new feature that lets you instantly capture and swap stems across tracks. Mind blown!
Atomix VirtualDJ 2025
Stem separation is pretty standard these days, so it’s time for companies to start implementing it in interesting and creative ways. AlphaTheta’s DDJ-GRV6, with its Groove Swap function, hinted at what is possible. VirtualDJ 2025, the latest rev of the long-running independent DJ software from Atomix, has really upped the game though with its StemSwap Sampler. It’s pretty mind-blowing.
What Is StemSwap Sampler?
StemSwap Sampler is an update to VirtualDJ’s sampler and adds stem separation technology to the loop capture function. Choose what kind of stem you want to capture, set the loop points, and it will instantly grab that stem from the target song. You can also capture multiple stems at the same time, such as vocals and kick drum for example.
Here’s where it gets interesting though. Trigger that captured stem sample from the other deck and it will replace whatever stem part is playing with the captured one. Say for example you sample the vocals from track one. When you trigger that sample on track two, the software will instantly mute track two’s vocal stem and replace it with the captured stem from track one. Incredible.
Additionally, you can now lock sampler banks to prevent accidentally recording over samples in the heat of the mix.
Atomix VirtualDJ 2025 is Next-Level Stuff
“VirtualDJ’s mission has always been to pioneer new technologies that will shape the future of DJing,” the company said in an announcement on its news page, “and help DJs around the world to bring their creativity to the next level.”
I don’t think they’re lying. This tech is pretty exciting and will certainly start showing up in other apps once competitors see this in action.
