Audiority Green Reaper GR9: 12 TubeScreamer stompboxes in one plug-in
Virtual TubeScreamer pedal
Audiority’s Green Reaper GR9 is a new recreation of the classic and much-loved TS TubeScreamer circuit in plug-in format for your DAW. Actually, it’s more like 12 recreations in one plug-in. And the intro pricing is pretty sweet, too…
Audiority Green Reaper GR9
This new TS-style overdrive has a resizable user interface that mimics the classic TubeScreamer pedal layout. If you are familiar with the Ibanez or Maxon originals, then this plugin will be easy for you to dial in.
The Green Reaper GR9 looks just like the classic TS-9 layout – you know, the one with the large silver footswitch modelled on the 1979 Maxon TS-808. The pedal consists of three controls Level, Tone and Drive, so it is pretty easy to work out. This effect is also well suited to give your guitar signal a boost, too. If you’re not familiar with the original, the characteristic sound is a mid-hump boost, so expect this plug-in to react in a similar way. Here’s a quick overview of the main features:
- Overdrive, analogue Modelling
- Controls: Drive, Tone, Level
- Gain Pre/Post
- “Mix” setting
- Noise Gate
- Models 12 different circuits
- Output mode “To Amp”
- Resizable interface
Software Extras
Audiority has built in some fetaures to take advantage of the virtual realm. There’s a built-in noise gate to tame your buzz, plus this plug-in includes 12 different circuit types as well, so you can choose your favourite flavour of TubeScreamer. And you have Pre/Post gain control too, which is handy. The Mix control and To Amp mode both make it easier to integrate the TS tone into your virtual setups.
The plug-in runs on both Mac and Windows, using VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats. You can pick up this sweet little green stompbox for 50% off the regular €20 RRP for a limited time and so it could well be worth adding too your collection. Especially, as it has all those added controls that an original pedal would not give you. Take a listen to the demo video below to hear it in action.
RRP – EUR 20 with introductory pricing at EUR 10 until 31 July
