Consumer Tech Fears?
It’s easy to have mixed feelings about seeing a dedicated audio brand moving into consumer tech. Part of AKG’s perceived downfall was its dilution under the Harmann ownership into a consumer tech-led company. However, in this instance, I think the PG16 marks an obvious and well-executed union of Austrian Audio’s expertise to capture a huge marketplace.
At this price point, it seems like a clever, high-quality product at an accessible price point. I can see Austrian Audio selling these by the bucketload.
