Behringer 69 Vibe: Mini-Uni-Vibe für Mini-Budget
While guitar manufacturers tend to make minor updates, the pedal scene has exploded in recent years with new effects and reissues of old legends. And Behringer rightfully wants a piece of the growing pedal pie. They’ve dedicated themselves to the vintage area this time around (I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Tube Screamer, Rat or Big Muff version from them soon). After the Fuzz Bender and the Centaur, they now present their version of a Uni-Vibe with the Behringer 69 Vibe.
And no other guitarist is as closely associated with the Uni-Vibe as one of the greatest of them all: Jimi Hendrix. Just remember his legendary performance at Woodstock 69. That’s probably where the pedal got its name. The pulsating chorus effect that shoots every note, every bend out into space – only with the Uni-Vibe.
What’s inside the 69 Vibe?
Despite all the vintage vibes, the Behringer 69 Vibe has a more modern layout than the original. Volume controls the output volume and Intensity controls the strength of the selected effect. Like many other modern iterations of the Uni-Vibe, Behringer has also added a Speed controls to control the chorus’ speed.
The right footswitch allows you to switch between between Hendrix-style chorus and more gentle lo-fi vibrato. The left footswitch is for bypass, which is kept modern in true bypass mode. In terms of connectivity, there is an input and output.
Next to it is an expression input. This allows you to use an expression pedal to gradually change the speed, adding even more vibe and expression to your sound. With this series of vintage pedals, Behringer seems to be paying close attention to current trends and pedal developments, while still honoring the originals.

The Behringer 69 Vibe is available now from Thomann* for just 59 Euros. However, it won’t be available for several months, so you won’t find it under your Christmas tree.
