Behringer DeepMind 12 Desktop? Yes or no.
Exemplifying the art of communication between manufacturer and community Uli Behringer has posted a question on the Gearslutz forum. Do you want a desktop DeepMind 12?
DeepMind 12 Desktop
The question came with an image and no other specification detail. Here’s what Uli said:
I like to share with you the prototype of the DeepMind12 desktop version.
While this is a working sample, we have not yet decided if we will actually put it in production. In order to achieve an attractive sales price that is below the keyboard version, we would require substantial production volume.
Perhaps you could share with us what your level of interest is if the product would be available at around US$ 899.
Thanks
Uli
I guess the process Behringer are going through is to balance the possibility of new sales with the amount of work involved and the possible cannibalisation of the keyboard sales. The choice between keyboard and desktop synth is always one that has me in circles. On the one hand I have very little space and I already own a MIDI keyboard so a desktop version would be ideal. On the other it’s nice to be able to sit and play, or to take a single synth out to a gig and so having a keyboard attached is advantageous. Personally I think they will garner enough interest or even pre-orders to make it a reality.
What do you think? Would you prefer a desktop version of the Behringer DeepMind 12?
