Free Plug-ins by Bakuage
Developer Bakuage released three free plug-ins – a compressor, panner, and spectrum analyzer.
BasicComp is a dynamics processor with adjustable knee and four controls – Fixed Volume, Speed, Ratio, and Stereo Expander. It’s designed for mastering and processing vocal or drum tracks.
ITDPanner controls the panning of stereo sound sources without degrading sound quality or channel interference. The plug-in incorporates Interaural Time Difference control, a Balance control, and swapping of input signals.
DRAnalyzer displays real-time spectrum analysis as well as past spectrums as a distribution. It is possible to see the dynamic range of each band, making for great compatibility with multi-band compressors. Furthermore, the spectrum can be corrected according to human hearing, letting you see the sound as it’s heard. Good stuff!
- The Bakuage plug-ins are Windows-only and can be downloaded here.
AMBEO Orbit by Sennheiser
Sennheiser published a free plug-in, Ambeo, designed for mixing binaural content. It lets you position mono or stereo sources into the 3D sound field, avoiding unwanted coloration. The clarity control lets you choose how much binaural coloration to apply. There’s also an interface for binaural room reflections, giving you the opportunity to improve spatial accuracy.
There are other Ambeo plug-ins available from Sennheiser, such as A-B Converter and Pattern.
- AMBEO Orbit is available in AAX, VST, and AU formats for Mac and Windows. Download here and check out the rest of the AMBEO plug-ins.
